CLINIC REFURBISHMENT
THE BRIEF
When Wattle Grove Veterinary Hospital undertook a refurbishment of their facilities, they engaged Discus to deliver acoustic solutions and reception graphics.
A key requirement was providing acoustic treatments to three clinical rooms to absorb sound and echo while also adding artistic interest to the space.
A graphic from the Discus Design Studio online design library was used in the project and adapted to the client’s project colour palette. Check out discus.com.au/designs
WHAT WE DELIVERED
Discus provided a full service from project management, design, print production and installation.
The three treatment rooms consisted of hard surfaces and created a lot of echo and sound reverberation. We consulted Autex to obtain an indication of the amount of product required to achieve effective acoustic performance.
We then issued samples to the client to test acoustic response before proceeding with Autex Quietspace in 25mm thickness.
The acoustic panels also needed to add artistic interest to the stark spaces and Wattle Grove Veterinary Clinic selected design Cellu from the Discus design library. Cellu is a natural pattern inspired by the organic shape of cells. Our studio customised the colour of Cellu utilising the Hospital’s project colour palette including matching to their Dulux paint colours.
After printing design Cellu to the acoustic panels, we installed them to two adjoining walls in each of the hospital’s treatment rooms with a powder coated aluminium edge trim.
In the reception area, we printed the customised Cellu design to a matt laminated wall graphic which provided a feature backdrop.
THE RESULT
The printed acoustic panels have delivered high acoustic performance making a significant difference to sound and echo absorption in each of the three treatment rooms.
Wattle Grove Veterinary Hospital is not only happy with the acoustic improvement but also with the artistic aesthetics the panels have added to each of the rooms.
Selecting a design from the Discus design library made for an easy process for the Hospital, where their colour scheme was applied to the design for overall continuity throughout the facility.
