WARD REFURBISHMENT
BADGE FOR ST JOHN OF GOD SUBIACO HOSPITAL
THE BRIEF
BADGE commissioned Discus to deliver graphics required for the first stage of a $16 million refurbishment project at St John of God Subiaco Hospital. The works include a graphic fitout of 6 wards spanning over 3 levels in the hospital’s north block.
Graphics were required for patient bedheads, nursing stations and patient lounges with the aim of creating a modern environment and enhancing the patient experience.
The critical component of the brief was the need to deliver hospital-grade vinyl protected by a durable laminate. The material needed to be waterproof and meet AS3837 fire standards for both infection control and health & safety requirements.

WHAT WE DELIVERED
We worked closely with the appointed graphic designer, where St John of God’s corporate pomegranate identity formed a patterned design across the graphic applications.
After a site measure of the areas, we organised printed samples to ensure the recommended products met the brief requirements, complemented the joinery and building components and for sign-off by the project architect Silver Thomas Hanley.
We used a quality optically clear vinyl for the nursing stations and patient lounges and a High Tack vinyl for the bedheads. All products used are suitable for high traffic commercial areas where durability and longevity are required, while also meeting strict clinical-grade requirements.
We worked to the strict building project timeline, ensuring we delivered on time and within budget for handover.
THE RESULT
The graphic fitout has provided an uplifting space that promotes healing and enhances the hospital stay experience for patients.
Staff and doctors also benefit from the refreshed work environment, boosting morale and strengthening teamwork.
Our clients are delighted with the outcome! To see the final result and hear from St John of God Subiaco Hospital about what the refurbishment means to them check out their video.
